Nelson Architectural Engineers' mission is to reduce risk and prevent failure by combining ethical standards with advanced technologies in an effort to discover cause of failure and to educate our clients and peers on our findings.

Principals

Since it's founding in 1994, Nelson Architectural Engineers has been a leader in the field of Investigative Engineering and Forensic Technology. Erik L. Nelson, Ph.D., P.E., and Deepak Ahuja, M.S., P.E., lead a multi-disciplined team of experts who handle large catastrophic losses including cause and origin, damage assessment, and remediation/repair.

Dr. Nelson is an experienced Architectural and Structural Engineer. Dr. Nelson is a well-known lecturer and author of numerous technical publications involving Forensic Engineering. Additionally, Dr. Nelson is the creator of the popular Common Perils® educational series.

Mr. Ahuja is an expert in material and structural failure. Mr. Ahuja is also an experienced engineer in the areas of Civil and Structural Engineering.

NAE provides Expert Witness, Litigation and Subrogation Resource and Support, and Consulting Services available worldwide from multiple locations in the United States. NAE Consulting Services include expertise in Engineering and Forensics, Forensic Architecture, Industrial Hygiene and Safety, Fire Investigations, and Surety Consulting.

NERT - Nelson Emergency Response Team

With multiple strategic office locations, NAE experts can reach investigation sites quickly. In addition to rapid response, NAE provides an Emergency Response Team, called the NERT team, which is on stand-by 24 hours a day, 7 days a week that is immediately available for mobilization and rapid response to any emergency, weather peril (hurricane, tornado, storm surge), or structural failure (bridge or building collapse, vehicular impact, structural failure). NAE is ready to respond fully-equipped and immediately to any onsite investigation.
